7 Family Vacations to the Mediterranean

Malta 
From the friendly locals to the sun kissed beaches and stunning natural wonders, Malta offers something for travelers of all ages. There are also plenty of historic sights, many of which can be found in the capital, Valletta. Be sure to visit the 16th century, St Johns Co-Cathedral before lounging under the sun at the island's largest beach, Mellieha Bay. It’s a great place for those with smaller children, offering a gently sloping shoreline and calm waters.

If you’re considering an Italian holiday, forget Rome and head to the Tuscan city of Pisa. It’s home to the square of Miracles - a collection of iconic buildings including the iconic leaning tower. Once you’ve snapped the perfect family picture, visit the popular Caffe Dell’Ussero, situated on the banks of the River Arno. Renowned for their indulgent gelato, kids are welcomed with a smile and colossal bowl of ice cream. 

Canary Islands
Boasting some of the best weather in Europe, the Canary Islands offer sunshine long into the winter months. Crete

Algarve

Drag yourself away from the beach and be sure to explore the regions capital Faro. The city's Old Town is a treasure trove of ancient churches and there’s a municipal museum with spectacular Roman sculptures.

Admire the unique modernist architecture and indulge in the Catalan inspired tapas from steaming plates of paella to fresh fish and cured meats. The children will love a day spent at Barcelona Zoo which features a petting zoo and a dolphin show. Soccer fanatics can also visit one of the most renowned clubs in the world and marvel at the trophies of Barcelona FC.

Cyprus
The resort town of Paphos on the west coast of Cyprus offers a lively mix of rich heritage, luxury resorts and world-class beaches. The best way to explore the region is on two wheels on a state-of-the-art Segway tour. It’s heaps of fun and you’ll stop at the major sights including the archaeological wonder, the Tombs of the Kings.
